What do you see? A dragon preying upon a bird, or a dragon assisting the bird in getting nectar?

Bloom-tailed dragons adapted a unique way to lure their prey closer. They generally eat and snack on insects. Hummingbirds, especially, are a treat. These types of dragons have developed a way to create a flower on their tails to lure the birds closer. The scales on their tails take on the appearance of flower petals and upon extending, release similar pheromones. Once the bird tries to eat the flower nectar, the dragons clamp down on the birds with their tails and bring them down.

This is a large sculptured made from Cosclay. The bird is made of velvet clay. There is a wire for the beak and allows the bird to be moved up and down or slightly different positions. This is for display purposes and not a toy. Please care for him gently.

The sculptures and figurines are one-of-a-kind and lovingly handmade.  All sculptures, except really small ones, have wire armature and bulked with tinfoil. The clay used is cosclay and pigmented with mica powder, Fimo colored clay, or apoxie. Any paints used are FolkArt acrylic paints. The eyes are also hand painted. I am more than happy to do custom creatures, just keep in mind there will always be variations. The figurines are hand stamped to ensure you are receiving a unique and genuine dragon from me. Small creations generally just have my initials: B.M. Larger sculptures have my full art name: ClayLeafCreations.

You will also receive a Signed Certificate of Authenticity with each figurine/sculpture purchased. The only exception is the glow in the dark hatchlings, unless customized with personal details.

When you receive your new sculpture, please open the package very carefully! Polymer clay and apoxie are durable clays, however it IS breakable! If something should occur where there is a small break, most can be repaired with a small dab of super glue. If there happens to be larger cracks or breaks such as if the piece falls, you can reach out to me, and I can walk you through repairs.

With pieces that are larger and made with apoxie, I highly recommend taking a picture of the box before you open it, and then as you open it so that we can see any damage to the box and how the package was wrapped. Big sculpture I generally double box for extra safety to prevent breaks. Rarely, things happen in the shipping process and if the box and sculpture were damaged by the post office, we need these pictures to file a claim with the post office. I also include some apoxie clay and instructions on how to use the clay for those larger sculptures.

I accept returns on a case-by-case basis, and I must be contacted within the first week of receiving the piece.

*************

The sculptures are not toys, please be sure to keep them out of the reach of children and animals. Broken pieces or small pieces can pose as a choking hazard and should be either glued back onto the figurine immediately or thrown away.
