FAQs
What material do you use?
I use different kinds of clay. Most commonly, I use premo, fimo, and cosclay which are are polymer clay based. For bigger things I use apoxie and dabble/try other air dry clays. Most items do have a wire and foil armature beneath. Hatchlings and minis usually do not. Many of my 'small dragons' also do not have too much foil or wire. For paints, I use FolkArt Acrylics and either use a matte or gloss varnish.
How do I care for my sculpture?
Very gently wipe with a cloth so you don't snag edges. You can have a touch of water on the cloth. You can also use a keyboard air blower to get dust out of small nooks and crannies. Keep out of direct sunlight in hot climates. Apoxie is more durable in sunlight and can be kept in a patio. For polymer clay sculptures, please keep indoors. If you are not sure, please ask! None of these sculptures are aquarium safe!
What can I customize? Do you do other things besides dragons?
Yes, I do other animals and fantasy creatures as well! I have eyes and sizing chart below, we can customize wings, back ridges, positioning, style (cute/realistic), and colors. I do my best work when given a little bit of freedom to choose some things in the design as well and I am very happy to work with you on creating something unique. These pictures are templates and other things can be done, these are just my more typical designs.

How long does a custom take?
It depends on the size and complexity. Most hatchlings and minies take a day or two to complete. Small dragons can take up to 2-3 days. Medium and large ones can take several weeks to a month or two.
I have a picture, can you make a sculpture from it?
It depends. If you are asking me to get some inspiration from something and make my own style, sure. If it is your own design, I can make it similar and do my best to get all the things you want in my style. If you are asking me to replicate the picture made my someone else, I will politely decline. I will not make replicas of other people's work unless they have given consent for us to use their model. I do use pictures as references for my art for positioning, anatomy, etc.
Do you draw your art first?
Most of the time I do not. I can't draw though I may try sometimes. I will usually show pictures of my previous work to reference style or design choices.
Do you take payment plans? What happens if I don't pay by the dates?
I do take payment plans through Paypal. It is the "pay later" option where you pay paypal in installments and paypal pays me the price of the item right away, so there are no open debts with me. The payment installments and late penalties are up to paypal.
For customs I highly encourage you to reach out before you buy a listing so that you can decide once it is done whether you still want to purchase it. This makes it easier for us both if things change.
What is the process for a custom?
Step 1: Contact me so we can discuss and go over what you'd like and get an ESTIMATE on price! This is the design phase.
Step 2: Once we agree on a design, I will ask you for a down payment for the item (non-refundable if you cancel mid-way through).
Step 3: I will start working on your creations. I will share pictures of the sculpture before each bake so that you can confirm it. I do require a response from you within 48 hours of these pictures being sent. (We all have work and we can discuss a personalized timeline for responses as needed before the process begins.) This way I can ensure all custom pieces are worked on in a timely manner. If I don't receive a response, I will assume it is correct and continue making the sculpture. Once it is baked, I can't modify.
Step 4: I show you the completed piece for final confirmation and then final payment is requested.
Step 5: I ship your order!
